DIY HOMEOWNERS & INSTALLERS

DIY Home Owners and Installers

At Valley Dock Co., we started our business because we needed some docks for our cottage but we couldn't afford the quality of dock that would last a lifetime and we didn’t want a cheap rickety old bolt together dock. This inspired us to develop an easy to build dock for us that kept fabrication costs low and that was easy for the every day handy water front owner to install themselves. We also wanted to product to not be bolt together, and something that was solid enough and fully welded that would last a lifetime.

To install, you simply set your first section off shore at the desired height, and then hook the next frame into the quick connect brackets at the end of the previous frame to level the section and set your leg height. Once all the frames are installed you cut off the access leg length if you are using the architectural series. You then place your tops in the frame and put in your aluminum finishing strips.

Our product is one of the most simple pole dock systems out there to install and we offer frame only options so you can save some money doing your own tops and all you need is a chop saw or a skill saw.

To install, all you need is a level, ¾” socket or wrench, a drill, and a grinder if you are getting the architectural series.

The only top product we offer is graded western red cedar as we believe it is the go to for Canadian cottage life. We use 5/4 deck boards and put them down individually in the frame. This means however you can also use any product that has a 1” nominal thickness for your dock top including but not limited to 5/4” Pressure treat, composite decking, plastic flo-thru decking, aluminum decking, we have even had people do ½ plywood with 1/2” matts.

We provide aluminum finishing strips that go in and screw to your frame to hold your top down and provide that perfect clean finish on every install, no matter how accurate you are at cutting wood. We will provide a cut list and quantity required for each dock frame so you know exactly what you need to buy.

We also provide installation instructions and have install instructional videos coming soon to support you with your installation.
